On top of that, the idea of love as a social concept or an actual emotion is discussed heavily, turning around the minds of those who agree and those who disagree with love.Īnother one of the main themes explored is hope. Many of the characters find themselves in situations where they believe they are in love, when really their relationship is abusive, broken, or just plain nonexistent. Love is one of the main themes of We All Looked Up, specifically diving into the idea of loving the right person. Even though you know that hoping for happiness to come to these four teens is pointless, you still find yourself wishing for their survival and for their love to remain now and forever more. Each character has their own unique and definitive personality, and exhibits a sense of love and bitterly true honesty. Tommy Wallach is a phenomenal writer, crafting a magnificent story like no other. When I say I couldn’t put this book down, I thoroughly mean it. Where do I even begin? Let me just start by saying that We All Looked Up is hands down, by far one of the most incredible, amazing, and spectacular stories I have ever read. ![]()
